Tomorrow. by Keita

Our fifth concert for united.
we've practiced over a period of one week.
we'd all been living together. haha
this one week has turned into dance studies.
everyone is talented at dancing, so it's fun to watch. ^ ^
also looking forward to the dance stage that's appropriate for w-inds.!
It's rather (iketemasu)*
We're all like, "kya--! kya---!"** lol
anyways, see you tomorrow ^ ^

* i apologize, but I am unfamiliar with this term: イケてます
**kya is onomatopoeia for an excited squeal or scream. positive connotation, though usually reserved for females.

Dance. by Keita

Today we were also dancing!
I can't move anymore. haha
I usually dance as I sing,
so right now I'm kind of playing it safe.
When it's just dancing, you can move without thought. That's fun. ^ ^
That's not to say that singing while dancing isn't fun, of course.
It's just that the two are very different to me.

Let's dance again tomorrow!
For now, let's give the abdominals a break!

The Morning Will Come Quickly* by Keita

Good morning ^ ^
I've gotten more troublesome time updates today. haha
Yesterday was our Niigata concert!!
The atmosphere was great, and so was the scenery!!
The people were great, too!!
It's a great place, isn't it?
The bullet train is late that morning, so i was wondering what would happen;
but we were peacefully able to have a good event!
For those of you who came, thank you very much!!
And for those of you who I woke, once again good night!! haha

Ryohei's Ameblo Translation: Oct 22, 2011

2011/10/22 by Ryohei

Today we went to Niigata Prefecture!
There are so many good people here, as our audience and in the population.
They make so much delicious rice and export it for all of us.
I'm so thankful as someone who likes rice!
It was only for one day, but I'm happy were were able to do a concert at Niigata.
The scenery outside was gorgeous, so it wasn't done in vain. (There's a good meaning!)
Next up is our Omiya event.
As we head towards our Omiya concert, I'll work hard in reflecting [about my experiences] again.

Keita's Ameblo Translation: Oct 22, 2011

complicated. by Keita

Why aren't these worldly phrases shared globally??
Even though everyone wants to talk to other people!!
Even though words so important, being the centre of communication!!
It's because what's more important are peoples' smiles!
I'm testing this theory out. ^ ^ haha

E-N-G-L-I-S-H   I-S-   C-O-M-P-L-I-C-A-T-E-D,   I-S-N-'T   I-T.

speaking of, it seems as if people have already answered the question on the blog.
but is it okay if i answer it, too??

David Foster. by Keita

I went to a David Foster and Friends concert.
There's a big gap in our age differences, and i felt somewhat out of place, but I had fun.
I was honoured to have been able to hear Philip Bailey's voice again.
Around eight years ago I did a cover of one of his songs at our concert.
I heard him sing Earth, Wind & Fire's "AFter the Love has Gone!!
I wanted to sing, too!! haha
And Michael Bolotin is super talented at singing!
The group is filled with amazing artists.
It would have been even better if they played You Raise Me Up, but that's okay!! haha
THEIR SONGS ARE AWESOME------!!!

As for Today. by Keita

I had lessons and it was a very ordinary day. haha
What kind of things do people write about
when they're updating their blogs every day?
That's my question.
It's been five years since my solo debut,
so i guess it's been around five years since i've started this blog.
And now me, who's won an award for this blog, is now just
updating my blog with posts that lack any content.
I think I'd nominate a moody updater for this Ameblo award. . .
What do you think about that, Ameba-san?? haha
I think I can work hard to upload posts for a hundred days...

In other words, we've returned back to Japan... and for some reason i really want to eat ramen.
I'll rest a bit, and then get back into the home-country concert mode.
This time ourstage set for teh Hong Kong concert was different from our set for Japan; we decided to update the lighting, the formation, and things like that.
We're waiting on the Niigata concert, so we're going to have to make changes before then!
I'lll do my best in Niigata.

thank you to The09231216 for the video upload. to be directed to the video, please click here.
I do not own the clip, nor do I own these original lyrics. I used J-Lyrics for the Japanese kana.

Keita: "This will be the final song for tonight. It's basically a message that I want to express. I've been thinking about these ideas inside my head, and at one point I just thought, 'If I don't sing about it, it'll be a waste.' And so I wrote it while I was making my album. Please listen to this."

Somewhere, today
someone is crying out, demanding to be loved.

Ryohei's Ameblo Translation: Oct 11, 2011

2011/10/11 by Ryohei

w-inds. appeared on the The Nichi Etsu Yuukou Ongaku Sai event in Vietnam.
With an invitation from Ryotaro Sugi-san, after the last event, we came to vietnam for a second time.
Their language and environment are different, but through music and performaces we were able to touch the hearts of many local people and their culture. We were able to spend some valuable time with everyone.
We've also decided to extend our appointed plans for the overseas tour, and I'm happy that we were able to [fit time] in the production schedule to perform for Vietnam. It's been awhile since we've done that.
We were really anxious and nervous... haha
But even among Vietnam locals, we had fans!
I'm thankful for that.
Speaking of, the time difference between Japan is two hours.
This is kind of a side topic, but I have a feeling that by going to all these overseas [countries,] the bond between w-inds. members and the w-inds. crew will become stronger. It's mysterious.
More than usual, we'll share intimate stories and stuff with everyone.
Well, that's about it.
Thank you to Sugi-san for providing us with this opportunity, Godai Natsuko-san, the rest of the cast, the officials who came, and to everyone of Vietnam.

Keita Tachibana (solo) Oricon Style Q&A [Part 2]

to be directed to the original article (which i do not own), please click here. This was done as a continuation of yesterday's post for 18 Days to Michishirube.

----- From here on out, what kind of artist would you like to become?
In w-inds.' five years, we've tried many types of music, and I've come to like the kind we're doing now. With that in mind, I'd like to try many genres and record them. Right now, more than before, I want to be able to express what I'm feeling now.

----- How do you think your solo music varies from w-inds' music?
w-inds. [releases] songs and dance that can only be done with three people, while solo Keita Tachibana is about the world of lyrics that I'm into. I waited for these lyrics and melodies, and I want to express these feelings. If you can hear my music and feel at least one thing, I'll be happy.

----- And lastly, your message towards your fans.
I, as Keita Tachibana, would like to add something to my lyrics by incorporating and expressing my thoughts. And I'll be happy if my melodies can give everyone a little strength, even if it's only a small amount. Please listen to my "Michishirube" so you can feel what I'm feeling.

Keita Tachibana (solo) Oricon Style Q&A [Part 1]

This was done as part of 18 Days to Michishirube. Check in tomorrow to see the conclusion of this Q&A! I do not own the original article by Oricon, found here

----- Please briefly explain the details involving your solo debut.
For some time, I've wanted to write my own songs and lyrics. On top of that, I'd say to the agency, "I want to do this kind of music,"and we'd discuss it, but it would always end up that "it's kind of hard to express this [type of music] with w-inds." That's why I decided to go solo.

----- Specifically what kind of music do you want to do?
I've been practicing guitar, so do I want to play guitar and sing. But most importantly, since I've really come to like the world of lyric composition, I want to sing songs that will describe this world.

----- With Michishirube, I feel like Keita has shown the world a life-sized version of himself.
Right. Well, I wrote the song with that intention. Forcing yourself to write [about anything] is fine, but for me, the easiest thing to write about are my personal thoughts.

----- Do you have a message you'd like to get across?
Let's see. Well, I wrote the song because I love people who are trying their best, and I want to support them. Many songs have lent me their strength, and with that in mind I hope people who hear this song will be given the same.

----- Do you think the thoughts included in lyric composers' songs and your songs are any different?
There's no doubt with one's thoughts. Composers all have their own worlds, and they can sing easily and straightforwardly.

----- The title of your coupling song, Koe, seems to have a similar meaning.
Is that true? (blushes and laughs). I want to be able to explain the world of lyrics, and so more than going backwards and singing normal[, overheard] songs, I'm consciously trying to start to sing my own.

Ryuichi's Ameblo Translation: Oct 11, 2011

The Return from Vietnam by Ryuichi

We did it.
On the flight back home, we had Sugi-san's distilled spirits. And then there was solid ground.
It was laid back and sweet, and we could smell the Satsuma sweet potatoes, which were really god.
But in the end, I got good and drunk and went to sleep.
When we got home, I looked at Godai Natsuko's blog, then started handing out persimmons for no reasons.
Too bad.
On the way home, our car was headed towards the dance studio, so I think I heard Ryohei say, "We're not going to practice, are we?"
Then, "Ryuichi, are you coming as well?"

S. O. S. lyrics translation

This is a post for 18 Days to Michishirube. I do not own the song or its original lyrics. Credit to J-Lyric for the original kana.

I cried out from my heart.
My voice
couldn't reach anyone
The balance is now out of order.

Is it pain?
Is it sorrow?
Take a breath
so you can forget your emotions

The signs that were presented in front of someone
were overseen
and fell down.
Even though they got lost,
Even though I'm troubled by them,
Tomorrow still comes.

Keita Tachibana: First Album Release! Recording and Presents
dated: 2006-12-01

This year in October, with his first single Michishirube, Keita Tachibana debuted as a solo artist. Wanting his "songs to reach others," he straightforwardly wrote about his feelings; such became a very fitting debut. He released his first album, Koe, on October 18th.

He was responsible for all ten lyrics of the recorded songs, and we can use his final products to get to know him better.  In a previous interview, he said "One of my final goals is to be able to be responsible for my songs." So maybe next time we'll be able to hear one of his melodies!

The recording for Jidai, the first track of his album, has started being shown. So if you haven't heard it yet, please go ahead! We're also celebrating his first album release by giving away clear files to five winners!

K e i t a  T a c h i b a n a (w-inds.) Makes His  S o l o  D e b u t !

The vocal dance unit w-inds. has recently released a new single, Boogie Woogie 66, which combines both rock and funk styles. They have also visited the heart of Taiwan, as well as many areas around Asia. This popular group's lead singer, Keita Tachibana, will make his solo debut on October 18th.

Solo artist Keita is completely changing his style, by creating an acoustic medium-tempo melody. The song's title is Michishirube, and lyricist Keita has challenged himself to add two other tracks. During tours, he has been encouraging himself to practice singing while playing his Gibson guitar.
His naturally charming singing voice is not restricted to w-inds., and with a mature expression, he increases his vocal range to gain a new appeal.

Keita Interview (2010): Childhood and Fashion

This is for 18 Days to Michishirube.  I do not own this video, but thank you to antenacafe for uploading it!

I: Did you also take part in fashion shows [as a child]?
K: Yes.
I: And so here...
K: I'm right here.
I: on the right. And you're wearing sunglasses! You look very cool. _____ these children's clothing.
K: Yes. I was in this model club from when i was... five years old. And I'd do these fashion shows.
I: So then you'd see your mother's photos-
K: Yeah
I: and then do you remember what you felt?
K: I don't, actually. At this time I was in elementary school, and this kind of look was normal.
I: Really? The sunglasses, too?
K:_______. But you know, my brother was in the modeling club, and there were so many fashionable people. But when I went to school, people had different values. That was my sense.
I: At home you all were wearing this kind of fashionable clothing, so you were accustomed to that being 'normal.'
K: Yeah. I always thought my clothes were normal, but in grade six I realized I was wrong. Upon first seeing me, people would look at me strangely. In the first year of middle school, I bought my own clothes.
I: Oh. And all that time, in elementary and middle school, did you think you wanted to sing?
K: Yes. I was always listening to music and singing.
I: And when did you start practicing?

B: Today our guest is Keita Tachibana. Please regard us kindly!
A: The news we've been hearing is that you've been able to put forth so much power by yourself [as a solo artist].
B: How is it?
Keita: Well, because there's no one to talk to but myself, I end up speaking a lot.
A: You do, do you? We're relying on you, then.
Keita: Okay.
A: Please give us your best regards.

B: For Keita, you said you wanted to eat fruit, so we have these sun-harvested fruits. These are in season from Sun Fruits of Tokyo. Here is their Fruit Medley.

A: Do you like Fruit Zenzai?
Keita: Yeah, I do. You know, there's something about strawberries and pineapples that's really good. That's my absolute favourite.
B: That's what you like?
Keita: Yes.
A: There's your special strawberry.
B: It's very sweet.
A [makes face]: It really cools you down, doesn't it?

[REQUEST] Now You're Gone lyrics translation

This is another post for 18 Days to Michishirube. Keita assisted in writing this song for w-inds.

[The] WIND BLOWS, [then] SILENCE.
I SAW YOU [in the] MOONLIGHT
The waves kept rolling in
and the sand quietly pulled in
Your silhouette was glowing.
I just wanted to hold you like that.

At that moment, eternity had
changed a bit, but
then it was erased at dawn

NOW YOU'RE GONE
Our one meeting in this one lifetime
NOW YOU'RE GONE
It was just a short while, but
The love that melted in the morning sunlight
is only a memory, left behind
NOW YOU'RE GONE
Like a midsummer night's dream,
NOW YOU'RE GONE

Sakura soufu lyrics translation

Sakura Soufu (Cherry Blossom Memories*)
This is part of 18 Days to Michishirube. to be directed to the kana, please click here. i do not own this song or its original lyrics.

Towards a new breeze, towards a new opening
Being so childish that you can see the faces of such weak dreams
In an empty classroom, I confide my secrets in you.
My chest tightens
Such sweet pain.

The cherry blossoms make the sky circle down on us*
and i'm taught that time is limited.
We can still meet again, can't we?
on a long, everlasting journey...

everyone's dreams, beside everything, it surely exists...

Ryohei's Ameblo Translation: Sept 30, 2011

2011/09/30 by Ryohei

Tomorrow will be our Matsudou concert, and the day after that will be our Utsunomiya concert.
We're going to the Chiba and Tochigi Prefectures!
Let's all have fun together.
And after that, we'll be waiting on Vietnam so we can make an appearance on the Higoshi Etsu Ongaku Sai.
And once we get back to Japan, we'll be waiting for our Hong Kong concert.
After that we'll also go to Niigata!

Starting tomorrow, it'll be October, but before we know it, November will come around.
We'll do our best on all these October trips.

Friend lyrics translation

This is the second post of 18 Days to Michishirube. I do not own the song or its original lyrics. Thank you to J-Lyric for the kana. Thank you to eievui1999 for the video upload! To see it on YouTube, please click here.

OH FRIEND MY FRIEND
You're the flower that's blossomed in my heart,
MY FRIEND

The snow that the sky is holding up high is dyed with the colour of cherry blossoms
[And with it,] memories and feelings brought back to life.

The road I walked down with you, in our childhood days,
now makes my chest feel tight, as always

There's nothing to be done about those awkward days
The times where moments passed without me being able to confess are now buried.
It's as if the memories I painted with you were of only yesterday.
OH FRIEND MY FRIEND
If you reach for my hand
OH FRIEND MY FRIEND
I'll be able to tell you everything
MY FRIEND
