w-inds.

A DICTIONARY DEFINITION OF "W-INDS."

w-inds. is an internationally recognized J-Pop group, consisting of three people. Keita Tachibana (26) provides the lead vocals, with Ryohei Chiba (27) and Ryuichi Ogata (26) as backup vocals and rap.

Last year they celebrated their 10th anniversary, with multiple merchandise releases and concerts. They have also begun to reach out to their international fans on a new level, utilizing websites such as Twitter and QQ.com. For their dedicated international fans, w-inds. released their own application for the iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, and Android Phones.

Following the recent earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, w-inds. has also begun to take an active role as a celebrity leader.  They have participated in fundraising concerts such as MTV Japan's Sing for Smiles tour, alongside other groups like SHINee. They conscientiously conserved energy during their rescheduled tenth anniversary concert, using a smaller circular stage with minimal LED lights. A portion of the money they made was sent to the earthquake relief funds. Their amendable work will continue in July 2011, when they plan to participate in the TBC Natsu Matsuri Kizuna Miyagi ~ Smile Again!~ charity event. As proven with their involvement in Downes Syndrome and Sichuan Relief events, w-inds. is a commendable dance vocal group.

Supporting w-inds.
Depending on where you live, few to many albums are available on iTunes. Though shipping fees can be slightly expensive, you may also purchase a variety of their merchandise on Amazon Japan. Other sites that I have not personally tried are HMV Japan, CD Japan, and YesAsia.

Keita's TwitterRyohei's Twitter, and Ryuichi's Twitter were once regularly updated in Japanese. There are multiple Twitter accounts that translate these tweets. And as such, out of respect to these hardworking individuals, I will mainly refrain from changing these to English. w-inds. also has a specific twitter account, updated by their staff.

I did, however, try to translate Keita's AmebloRyohei's Ameblo, and Ryuichi's Ameblo as frequently as possible.
